Promoting Diversity and Inclusion at TASTE

Our mission at TASTE is to cultivate community through the Good Life. We have always valued diversity and inclusion, and currently our community of TASTE team members includes 25 to 41% non-white employees, but we certainly recognize there is room for improvement. To that end, we have created a Diversity and Inclusion Committee and made it our number one goal to hire more BIPOC to our teams during our current rehiring process, and to ensure that all current BIPOC employees of TASTE are trained, paid, promoted, and benefited equally in relation to non-BIPOC employees. We believe minorities and people of color deserve more access and opportunity, including and especially at our own company.

We are also taking part in initiatives like our Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout, a collaboration with Smartmouth Beer, and donating 100% of the proceeds to the Urban League of Hampton Roads; supporting the efforts of peaceful protesters by donating food and water; and working to create partnerships with local black-owned food businesses. Additionally, we offer paid volunteer time off to all full-time employees of the company, a benefit that we encourage our employees to take advantage of to make a difference in our communities.

We are not perfect, but we are doing the best we can to learn, listen, grow, and reflect the positivity and goodness that we see in our community. Thank you for your patience and patronage as we learn these valuable lessons and evolve as a company.
